Some anarchists participated in a diversion during the so-called
"Schuman parade" organised by the government and pro-EU parties
on the model of old mayday demos organised during communism:
(busloads of school students forced to come from the smallest
of places around the country and propaganda type: "all the nation
supports the EU"). The anarchists increased the temperature of
jubilation by shouting slogans such as: "we don't need factories,
we want balloons", and "it's going to be ok even without work".
Other groups like the Conservative Liberals ("Koliber") have dressed
themselves as bolshevik commissars and had EU and red flags
as well as long socrealist style banners saying: "EU: PEACE AND
PROSPERITY FOR THE WORKING CLASS". Some
solitary anarchist commando split from the rest of the group
attacked them with brussels sprouts. Koliber perhaps learned
to make parodies after anarchists ridiculed their D2 "March for Capitalism".
Like other libertarians, they support NAFTA and not the EU, which
for them equals with socialism.
Other groups protesting against EU included about 30 boneheads from 2
nationalist organisations, as well as some metal kids from
nationalist-pagan groups.
